5K Walk for Peace - TODAY

Walk 5K for Peace! The Mahatma Gandhi Library Peace Walk begins at the Gandhi Statue in the Rose Garden at Hermann Park and culminates with a walk across the stage at the 1000 Lights for Peace event at Miller Outdoor Theater. Registration begins at 3:30 pm at the Rose Garden

With this Website Kick-Off to Mahatma Gandhi Week, please register your children for the Contests this year - we have introduced a new Coloring contest for children under the age of 5.

1000 Lights for Peace

The day has finally arrive and we couldn't as for better weather for the 1000 Lights for Peace Sunday, October 2, 2011, 4:30 - 8pm

Join the Greater Houston Community in conjunction with Mahatma Gandhi Library for an evening filled with multi-cultural stage shows - from a live orchestra to dances from around the world. Arts and Crafts, Face Painting, Henna Tattoos, Storytelling and Balloons will be available for children. End the evening with a Candle Lighting Ceremony by making your own personal vow for Peace.
